DO I HAVE TO BIRTH AT POHLEN TO BE ABLE TO STAY POSTNATALLY?
We do offer postnatal only stays, speak to your midwife about your options.
HOW LONG CAN I STAY AT POHLEN
The average length of stay is 2-3 days unless you require further assistance and support. We want you to go home confident and can adjust the length of time if required.
CAN MY OTHER CHILDREN STAY WITH ME WHILE I'M AT POHLEN MATERNITY?
Unfortunately, we don't allow other children to stay during the postnatal period with you over night as this is a precious time for you to recover from your birthing journey, bond with your baby and learn to care for your baby. If you have a toddler who is still breastfeeding, we can make an exception as we support breastfeeding.
WHAT ARE THE VISITING HOURS?
We do not have set visiting hours. We understand that at times families are travelling far distances to meet the new baby. We can accommodate most visitors, but also have to keep in mind that mothers and babies need rest or time to learn feeding.
WHAT MEALS DO YOU SUPPLY?
Our meals are healthy, fresh and delicious. We supply breakfast, morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea, dinner (supplied by Redoubt bar and restaurant) and supper for you. We provide your support person with a free breakfast. The support person can purchase a lunch and dinner on site.
